Soulbound Gold Bonds Explained: AMM Pools, Clyde & Desat Bank

Gold Bonds are Soulbound: Online’s version of passive income: park materials in a liquidity pool and they keep accruing for as long as your resources stay pooled — a currency you can convert straight into Gold. Or they would, if the machinery behind it were switched on.

That’s the big caveat, and we’re putting it first: the official wiki currently states that “AMM Trading is unavailable for now, PixelBay is the new trading platform in Soulbound.” This guide explains how the system works as documented, so you’re ready if and when it returns.

What Are Gold Bonds in Soulbound?

Per the Gold Bond wiki page, “Gold Bonds are a reward currency in Soulbound earned by providing resources to AMM liquidity pools.” Two properties define them:

  • They’re not spendable. “Gold Bonds cannot be used directly in purchases—only redeemed for Gold.” No shop takes them; they exist solely as a claim on future Gold.
  • They’re tradable. “Gold Bonds are tradable and can be transferred between players” — so in principle you could sell bonds to another player rather than redeeming them yourself.

For how bonds fit alongside Gold and the game’s other currencies, see our currencies overview.

How to Earn Gold Bonds: AMM Liquidity Pools and Eligible Materials

The Automated Market Maker is a physical machine, not a menu: “a trading station on the right side of the DeSat Bank in Arcadia,” per the AMM page. (The wiki spells it “DeSat” there and “Desat” on the Gold Bond page — same bank.)

“Players earn Gold Bonds by depositing materials into specific AMM liquidity pools.” The eligible materials, per the Gold Bond page, are:

  • Coal
  • Iron Ore
  • Disk Orb
  • Geoterra Crystal
  • Obsidian Fragment

Pools are two-sided: “Each AMM pool pairs two assets (e.g., Coal ⇄ Gold),” and contributing both sides is what forms your liquidity position. In other words, you can’t just dump Coal in — you deposit Coal and Gold together.

LP Tokens, Fees, and Passive Accrual

When you deposit, providers earn “LP Tokens, representing their share of the pool and a cut of transaction fees paid out as Gold Bonds.” The wiki gives concrete numbers:

  • Deposit: “Supply 12 Coal + 133 Gold → receive 345 271 Coal-Gold LP Tokens”
  • Withdraw: “Burn 88 447 LP Tokens → receive 37 Coal + 523 Gold”

Note the withdrawal doesn’t mirror the deposit — the wiki’s example shows you getting back a different mix than you put in, though it doesn’t explain why.

While your tokens sit there, “as long as resources remain in the pool, players passively accrue Gold Bonds over time” (Gold Bond), corroborated on the Currency page: “Gold Bonds accumulate passively over time while your materials remain in the pool.” The flip side: “Removing liquidity from a pool halts Gold Bond generation.”

One honest gap: the wiki documents no accrual rate, no fee percentage, and no formula. How many bonds per hour a given deposit yields is simply not published.

Redeeming Gold Bonds at Clyde in Desat Bank

Cashing out is a conversation, not a menu: “Gold Bonds can be exchanged for Gold by speaking with Clyde inside the Desat Bank in Arcadia City” (Gold Bond). Conveniently, the Arcadia page confirms DeSat Bank bundles everything in one building: “the AMM trading machine (gold, ores, seeds), Gold Bond exchange, and personal storage.”

The bond-to-Gold exchange rate is another documented unknown — the wiki’s own advice is to monitor rates at the in-game AMM terminal or the external AMM Charts dashboard.

Slippage and Impermanent Loss: The Fine Print

The AMM’s dynamic pricing cuts both ways. The wiki’s worked example: “selling 200 Iron Ore at 10 gold each → expect 2 000 gold, but receive only 1 870 gold.” That’s 130 gold — roughly 6.5% — lost to slippage on a single trade; the wiki doesn’t explain what causes the gap.

Liquidity providers face a second risk the wiki flags explicitly: “beware impermanent loss!” In the standard financial sense of the term, that’s when the prices of the two pooled assets diverge and a withdrawn position ends up worth less than simply holding the materials would have been. The wiki itself doesn’t elaborate or quantify the risk beyond that warning.

Important: AMM Trading Is Currently Unavailable

To restate the headline: “AMM Trading is unavailable for now, PixelBay is the new trading platform in Soulbound” (wiki). No timeline for its return has been published. If you want to trade materials today, PixelBay is where that happens — and it’s worth noting the AMM machine also handled seeds, which connects to Seed Bonds.

Gold Bonds vs Just Buying Gold

Gold Bonds were the advanced, hands-off entry in our earning methods overview — and with the AMM offline, they’re currently the zero gold-per-hour method. Until it returns, your options are the active earning routes in that guide, or buying gold outright from a third-party seller. If you go the buying route, our price comparison table tracks seller prices hourly, and the safe-buying guide covers how not to get burned doing it.
