What to Spend Gold On in Soulbound: Every Known Gold Sink
Gold in Soulbound: Online flows in fast — but where does it flow out? This guide catalogs every gold sink we could verify on the official wiki and in Spiderware’s release notes, from 15g snacks to the 1,000g guild charter. If a price isn’t documented, we say so rather than guess.

Why gold sinks matter
An MMO economy only works if gold leaves it as fast as it arrives. The wiki’s Gold page groups the sinks into two tiers: small everyday spending — “Vendor items • Food, consumables • Crafting essentials” — and the big commitments: “Apartment • Crafting station • Player Service scavange items” (the wiki’s own spelling, not ours).
Knowing these numbers matters whether you earn your gold or buy it: they’re the only honest way to answer “how much gold do I actually need?”
Small daily costs: food, refreshes, and fillets
These are the drips that empty your purse without you noticing.
- Food. Cooked food restores Stamina, and the vendor SnackSnipe sells the ingredients. The Leveling and Progression page lists “Chicken | Cooking Ingredient | +15 Stamina | Gold x15” — 15 gold for 15 Stamina is the benchmark rate.
- Taskboard refreshes. Don’t like your Pioneer’s Guild contract options? Per the Pioneer’s Guild page, “the taskboard can be refreshed for a small gold fee (50g).” At 50g per roll, refresh costs stack up fast if you keep chasing better contracts — more in our contracts guide.
- Fish processing. The Fishmonger in Neo-Tilus “converts caught fish into Raw Fish Fillet for 10 Gold each” (Neo-Tilus page). Ten gold per fillet adds up quickly on a long fishing session.
Tools: from free starter gear to 1,000g hacking kit
The Tools page documents four clear price points:
| Tier | Tools | Price | Vendor |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | Old Gloves, Iron Pickaxe, Ability Configurator, HomeDiscV3 | 0g | Hector’s Workshop, Arcadia |
| Farming | Hoe, Trowel, Watering Can, Secateurs | 5g each | Bud (Seed Vendor), Virelda |
| Hacking | Old Hacking Tool, Lil’ Usb, Unstable Generator, Cypher Encoder | 500g each | Axon, Foundation Hub |
| Hacking (advanced) | Advanced Hacking Tool | 1,000g | Axon, Foundation Hub |
Starter tools “can be purchased from Hector’s Workshop in Arcadia for 0 gold” — genuinely free — and the full farming set from Bud costs a modest 20g. Hacking is the wall: kitting out with all four 500g tools plus the Advanced Hacking Tool runs 3,000 gold, the single biggest tool investment we know of.
Big-ticket purchases: guilds, apartments, and stations
- Guilds — 1,000g. The Update 5.18 release notes are explicit: “For 1000g you can create a guild, build your roster, recruit your friends, and show off your tag in-game.”
- Apartments. The wiki lists the apartment among the major sinks, and Arcadia’s Yoku Forge lets you “Purchase Apartment furnishings” (Arcadia page). Base apartment prices aren’t published on the wiki yet — we won’t invent a number.
- Crafting stations. Owning one is a listed sink; renting is the budget path. In Virelda you can visit “_blank’s apartment near Granny Smith to use gold-per-minute Level 2 Crafting Stations” (Virelda page). The exact per-minute rate is undocumented.
Vendor directory: who sells what, and where
A quick map of the vendors the wiki documents:
- Hector’s Workshop (Arcadia) — free starter tools.
- Yoku Forge (Arcadia) — apartment furnishings (the wiki doesn’t document which currency it charges).
- Vending machines (Arcadia) — “Recall Discs, Health potions, Food, and Cooking ingredients” (Arcadia).
- Bud (Virelda) — farming tools, 5g each.
- Farok (Virelda) — “vendor for basic accessories, potions, Recall Discs (teleports), and Food” (Virelda).
- Axon (Foundation Hub) — hacking tools, 500–1,000g.
- Fishmonger (Neo-Tilus) — fillet processing, 10g each.
- SnackSnipe — Stamina food like 15g Chicken.
For player-made gear, prices are set by other players on the auction house instead — that whole market has its own Pixelbay guide.
What gold can’t buy
Two hard limits, both straight from the Gold page: “Gold is not crypto,” and it is “not exchangeable for real money.” Gold flows one direction only — into the game, never back out.
One related oddity: Virelda Arena entry isn’t a gold sink at all. The Gold page prices it as “Entry: 50 Yoku” and frames the arena as an earner — “Why run it? Converts Yoku → Gold efficiently.” What exactly Yoku is isn’t documented on the wiki; the nine currencies that are documented get the full tour in our currencies guide.
One friendly rule worth knowing: gold is “free for player-to-player trades” — no trade tax nibbles at gold you gift or trade.
Budgeting for it all
Add it up: 1,000g guild, 3,000g of hacking tools, an apartment, and a steady drip of 50g refreshes and 15g meals — a serious wishlist runs well past 4,000 gold. You can grind it, or you can compare what third-party sellers charge per 10,000 gold on our live price table — just read the safe-buying guide first. Either way, now you know exactly what the gold is for.
